First of all: coffee beans are generally relatively resilient and subject to a very slow aging process. This is because coffee is a dry food product, and where there is no moisture, spoilage only begins very slowly. You can find more information about the aging process of coffee in our magazine article.
Please also note that it is not possible to check the best-before date or roast date in advance.
As Germany’s largest online marketplace, we want to offer you a wide selection of top-quality coffees, always fresh and sourced directly. We therefore promise that coffees and espressos from local specialty roasteries will arrive a few months after roasting. This ensures that the creations can fully develop their unique range of aromas and remain protected until consumption.
Coffees and espressos that we source from international roasters have to travel longer distances and undergo time-intensive checks to ensure high quality. We promise that coffees from international brands will still have many months of shelf life left when they arrive at your home.
Good to know: manufacturers usually provide a roast date. However, it is also possible that only the best-before date is stated on the packaging.
